KIP Fall 2025 - Events Intern - R Street Institute
The Koch Internship Program (KIP)
is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by
Stand Together Fellowships
that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation’s most pressing
challenges
. Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you. Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week).
Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance!
ROLE SUMMARY
Support R Street
in-person and virtual events, as well as assist with R Street event-related data management, planning creatively for future event opportunities, and more. This role will work cross-functionally with R Street’s policy and Government Affairs teams as needed. The individual in this position will be part of the Events unit which is nested within the broader Communications team at R Street, providing the opportunity to meet and learn from a wide variety of experts in the field.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Events
Supporting logistics for the organization’s in-person events held in Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area, as well as assisting with virtual events
Collaborating with colleagues on the policy and shared services teams to promote events to audiences
Executing logistics action items for well-run, professional events, including coordination with staff, contractors, and event participants
Identifying ways to improve our event planning and execution
Communications & Branding
Supporting the Event Team’s data management systems
Helping prepare and review event-related communications, including a newsletter and follow-up communications
Working collaboratively with R Street staff to help maximize the impact and reach of the Institute’s wide range of policy research and writing
Assisting with the marketing of other R Street policy programs to general audiences, organizations, foundations, media outlets and other stakeholders
Pitching ideas for fun and cost-effective swag items
Participate in collaborative team meetings and planning sessions
